A welded pipe trader in Tianjin relvealed that the price of welded pipe Q235 φ114*3.75mm from Youfa Steel is RMB 2.300/t (USD 350/t), stable compared with that of the previous trading day.

The source told Asian Metal that local market prices have kept stable in recent two days, while they have decreased by RMB100/t(USD 15/t) totally since the beginning of last week , as a result of the weak downstream demand. According to him, his current sales volume is only 100tpd against 150-200tpd in the early of May. He has an inventory of 4,000 for the time being and has no confidence in the welded pipe market outlook.
Another welded pipe trader in Wuhan, Hubei province reported that the price of welded pipe Q235 φ114*3.75mm from Huaqi Steel RMB2,400/t (USD 365/t), similar to that of the previous trading day. 
The source disclosed to Asian Metal that the welded pipe market hasn't shown any improvement since the early of May and the current downstream demand is much weaker than it was during March and April. He reported a sales volume of 3,000t in May, While it was 4,000-5,000t in April. Holding a stockpile of 5,000t, He prefers to hold a cautious attitude towards the forthcoming market.
A welded pipe trader in Foshan, Guangdong province disclosed to Asian Metal that the current price for Q235 φ114*3.75mm from local producers is RMB2,630/ (USD 400/t), stable compared with that of last trading day. 
The source pointed out that most end users are inactive in placing orders now and his current sales volume is only 150-200tpd against 300tpd in April. According to him, though local welded pipe prices are temporarily unchanged, he worries that they are very likely to go down again in the near future considering the insufficient downstream demand. He has a regular inventory of 5,000t and will keep a keen eye on the forthcoming market.

Line Pipe Production Status in China

1. Production Process
Welded line pipe can be distinguished into three production process which are resistance welding, spiral submerged arc welding, longitudinal submerged arc welding. These three types of line pipe are applied in different fields according to the raw materials, molding, aperture size and quality varies. 

2. Straight seam electric resistance welded pipe (ERW Steel Pipe)

ERW steel pipe is a type of welded piep has widest range of applications, most production units (more than 2,000), highest production yield (about 80% of the total capacity of the steel pipe production quantity) and the earliest production line invested in China. In China, the production size of ERW steel pipe ranges from 20mm to 610mm which played a large role in the national economy construction. Compared with other welded pipe production process, the LSAW steel pipe production units require relatively large investment, higher cost of raw materials, more complex process, low productivity and high production cost. Because of the high pressure oil and gas pipeline requires large diameter 1 million tons every year. Global Per-capital Steel Consumption Declined

The World Steel Association has released the annual statistics in 2015, the data showed that the global per capital cosumption of finished steel products has declined in second year. It down to 208.2 kg compared with last year's decrease. In Aisa, China's per capita steel consumption fell sharply in last year, it from 519.0kg in 2014 fell to 488.6kg which is down 5.9%. Compared with 2013 which has achieved a peak of 539.5kg fell 9.4% today. However, the data in 2015 is still higher than the data in 2012. Meanwhile, the per capita steel consumption in Japan and Tiwan have also declined, the data in 2015 has create the lowest data in the past five years. In India and Korea, the consumtion is keep increasing, specially in India, the per capita consumtion for steel products has break Indian record. Moreover, South Korea continue to maintain the world's highest per capita steel consumption status which has achieve to 1113.6 kg in 2015, but still below the 2008 record of 1207.4 kg peak level.

In Americas, North and South America per capita steel consumtion volume has declined in 2015. The United States, Canada and Brazil have fell which is seperately reduced to 297.4kg, 404.6kg, and 102.6kg. In Mexico and Argentina, the data is maintain to growth, and relatively rose to 190.6kg, 121.0kg. In the CIS last year, per capita steel consumption in the region is 190.0kg, a low record since 2009 which including Russia reached a new low level as 274.6kg, and Ukraine continued to decline to 74.7kg.

In the EU, the per capita steel consumtion in 2015 has reached 303.5kg which reached a consecutive three years growth, but still lower than the historical peak level of 311.6kg in 2011. Germany, France, Britain and other countries has declined, but Italy, Spain and Poland is growing.Czech Republic remains the highest per capita steel consumption in the EU countries reached 627.4 kg, only slightly below the 2007 peak of 635.8 kg. In other European countries, Turkey's per capita steel consumption increased significantly last year, reaching 436.8 kilograms, a new record high.

Although Africa last year for five consecutive years to maintain growth, reaching 33.1 kg, but still the world's lowest per capita steel consumption in the region. Per capita steel consumption in the Middle East last year fell from 232.0 kg 225.4 kg, the highest six-year low.

Line Pipe Consumption Report in China

Line Pipe is mainly used for manufacturing oil and gas transmission pipelines. Oil and gas pipelines is most convenient and safest lines connecting the resource area and the market consumption area. In the internatioanl developed countries, API 5L X52 line pipe is widely used in 1960s, API 5L X60-X65 line pipe is commonly used for oil and gas transmission. However, in recent years, API 5L X70 line pipe is occupied th main market for oil and gas pipeline construction. In China, the most widely used line pipe is API 5L X52, X65, X70 line pipe with the outer diameter ranges from 1016mm to 1219mm, and the pressure rate is 10MPa.

The Craft of manufacturing the SMLS Steel Pipe

The first step to make the seamless steel pipes is generally started with a hot extrusion to form the tube hollows from billets which has typically a drilled hole and is pushed through a die and over a mandrel with the process of air cooling or water quenching afterwards. The seamless
steel pipe wall thickness is defined by the gap between the piercing ram and the extrusion die. It is difficult to control the wall thickness uniformity and it is difficult to achieve good finish quality. The surface of the extrusion billet is initially machined in order to remove any surface defects otherwise it will exert a bad effect on the surface quality of the finished product. If there is any need to further reduce the tube hollows down to a required size, use the pilgering to finalize the finish and size of the tubes. Cold work improves the mechanical properties and tolerances. Cold pilger is the preferred production process since this technique provides a high forming rate, narrow tolerances and good productivity yields. In general seamless steel tubes receive some type of finishing treatment and heat treatment after completion of the manufacturing process and all piping shall be supplied in the heat treated condition.

China's steel exports forcast

Since April 25, the domestic steel market price fall, the ordinary steel price index fell more than 20 points, and part of steel products price has an decline rate over 30%. In the Chinese steel pipe market, both seamless steel pipe and welded steel pipe suffer a large price decrease. In generall, there will be three different prices in one day. The main logic behind the price decline is large profit margins stimulate the resumption of steel products production which led to the expansion conflict between steel supply and demand. When the market price goes down, steel products exporting is one way to relieve the domestic market pressure. Therefore, the market believe that the domestic market steel supply in May 2016 is getting better and better. In fact, themajority of steel prouduction enterprises and large steel products traders ahve such a feeling that the domestic steel export deliveries and new orders  volume performance is good in May. According to the Shanghai Steel Investigation Team Data, Chinese steel export is more than 9.5 million tons with a sequential growth rate in 5%.

In June 2016, the domestic steel exports may be affected. Chinese steel market in Europe and America is suffering from s severe "anti-dumping, countervailing" survey. Chinese steel exports to Europe and America are suppressed. The strong demand for steel consumption in Southeast Asia for the Chinese steel exports contributed a lot of power. Chinese steel export growth is very dependent on the Southeast Asian region. The changes in the Southease Asian market will largely affect the export quantity of  Chinese steel. June is the rainy season in Southeast Asia market, the rainy season will definitely affect the start of the construction site, which would weaken the steel consumption. In addition, the lslamic holy month of Ramadan will begin in June which will also affect the local steel consumtion. Therefore, we believe that in June Chinese steel exports will be affected the Chinese steel export in some degree, but in a limited impact strength.

Anti-corrosion Steel Pipe - Internal Coating

Internal coating systems for steel pipes using epoxy-based liquid paints, including Novolac, accompanying market trends. The principal uses of these coatings are:

1. To improve the flow of liquids by reducing the roughness of the pipes’ inner surfaces, in the case of Flow Coating.

The internal coating unit is equipped to coat pipes with a nominal diameter ranging from 4” to 48” and lengths ranging from 8m to 13m.
