Hot - dip Galvanized

The hot dip galvanizing is a process of applying zinc coatings to components in steel or iron by immersing the component in a bath of molten zinc. The simplicity of the hot dip galvanizing process is an advantage on other methods of corrosion protection.

The term has been subsequently adopted to other methods of steel coatings by zinc and, sometimes, is used in general for electrolytic steel deposition. To avoid confusions, the immersion of liquid steel in zinc should be referred as hot dip galvanizing. In any situation where the zinc is corroded as a sacrificial coating for the steel, the available zinc mass determines the performance against corrosion.

Our process is divided into the following steps:
1. Cleaning – Bath in acid solution to remove oils, masses and other greases.
2. Rinsing – Washing realised to avoid contamination of the following bathes.
3. Pickling – Bath in hydrochloric acid to remove oxides and mill scales.
4. Rinsing – Washing realised to avoid contamination of the following bathes.
5. Fluxing – Solution of zinc chloride and ammonium chloride which acts as protection against oxidation between the pickling and zinc immersion.
6. Drying – Stage in an oven at 60ºC to dry the pieces and reduce the thermal shock upon immersion in the zinc bath. Furthermore acts as wetting agent of the pieces in the zinc bath.
7. Zinc Bath – Immersion in a bath of molten zinc between 440º and 465º to reaction between Fe/Zn which composes the final coating.


Brazil’s domestic hot-rolled coil prices remain stable at a high level

Brazil’s domestic hot-rolled coil prices has risen 35% since the beginning of this year, now remains stable.

Brazil’s basic commercial grade hot-rolled domestic price is at 3400 Reals/ton FOB, includes full tax, IPI is not included; the price is equal to 1035/ton, or US$ 776/ton FOB, excluding tax.

One main dealer said in 2nd quarter sales are much less compared with the same period in 2015, but July sales recover and it looks very positive in August. The industry started to feel confident the new government and the financial authorities.

Welded Pipe vs. Seamless Pipe

Advantages Of Welded

Welded pipes are typically more cost effective than their seamless equivalents.
Welded pipes are usually more readily available than seamless. The longer lead time required for seamless pipes can not only make timing problematic, but it also allows more time for the price of the materials to fluctuate.
The wall thickness of welded pipes is generally more consistent than that of seamless pipes.
The internal surface of welded tubes can be checked before manufacturing, which isn’t possible with seamless.
Advantages Of Seamless
The main perceived advantage of seamless pipes is that they don’t have a weld seam. Traditionally, the seam of welded pipes has been viewed as a weak spot, vulnerable to failure and corrosion. For many years, this fear was probably justified. However, in recent years improvements in the manufacturing process for welded steel pipes and other welded pipes have boosted the strength and performance of the weld seam to levels indistinguishable from that of the rest of the pipe.
Seamless pipes provide peace of mind. Although there should be no issues with the seams of welded pipes supplied by reputable manufacturers, seamless pipes prevent any possibility of a weak seam.
Seamless pipes have better ovality, or roundness, than welded pipes.

Usage Notes for Flange Product

Notes for flange product use:
1. In order to prevent corrosion of eye is generated due to a flange cover heating, welding current should keep shoulds not be too big, than carbon steel electrode less than 20%, arc shoulds not be too long, interlayer fast cooling, a narrow weld bead is appropriate.

2. The use of the electrode should be keep the drying, titanium calcium type should keep drying 150 DEG C for 1 hour and a low hydrogen type should be kept between 200 and 250 DEG C and dried for 1 hour, prevent electrode viscous oil and other dirt, so as not to cause the weld increase with carbon content, and the influence of welding quality.

3.  Flat welding flange pipe welding by repeated heating and carbide precipitation and reduce the resistance and the mechanical properties of the corrosion properties of the product.

4.  Chrome flange pipe after welding of flange American Standard hardening is large, easy to crack. If the same type of chromium stainless steel welding rod (G202, G207) welding, must be more than 300 degrees above the preheat and 700 degrees after the cooling treatment. If can not carry out welding welding after heat treatment, should use the flange pipe electrode (A107, A207).

5.  Flat welding flange, in order to improve the corrosion resistance and welding and appropriate to increase the amount of stability of Ti, Nb, Mo, better than chromium flat welding flange welding. Using the same type of chromium welding flange welding rod (G302, G307), after more than 200 DEG C of preheating and welding 800 DEG C tempering treatment. If the welding conditions can not be heat treatment, should use the flange pipe electrode (A107, A207).

Electrical resistance welding

Electrical resistance welding will be welders parts formed pressed between two electrodes, and subjected to current, the resistor thermal effects generated by the current flowing through contact with the workpiece surface and the neighboring regions to be heated to melt the plastic state, so that metal-binding method. Spot welding
