How to Clean a Steel Pipe

Cleaning the inside of the steel pipe
Run after through the inside of the pipe. This can be done in a sink if the pipes is small enough. Use a water hose outside if the pipe is too big to fit in the sink. Tilt and twist the pipe. While the water is running, tilt it so the water run against the inside of the pipe. Twist the pipe so the water cleans off the sides of the pope, use a scrub brush saturated with soapy water to scrub the inside of the pope. If the pipe is too narrow to fit your hand though, use a baby bottle brush to clean the inside, Rinse the pipe with clean water and allow to dry. 

Cleaning the outside of the steel pipe
Saturate a soft cloth with distilled white vinegar and wipe the outside of the pipe with the cloth. Rinse the outside of the pipe with warm soapy water. Soak paper towels in baby oil and clean the outside of the pipe with them.  The baby oil will make the pipe shine like new. Spray a water displacing formula onto a cloth and wipe the pipe down. The water displacing formula will not only clean the pipe, but it will also in protecting the pipe from future marks.

Polishing the steel pipe
Apply a small amount of metal polish to a microfiber rag. Rub the microfiber rag gently across the surface of the pipe to distribute the polish evenly. Make sure the polish does not get too much thick on the pipe. Rub the surface of the pipe gently with a clean microfiber cloth to work off any excess polish. Buff the surface of the pipe and allow to dry.

Cold- draw Steel Pipe Production Process

The cold- draw steel pipe production process:
The cold-draw steel pipe production process involves combining cold-rolled and cold-draw
processes in the production process. The advantage of cold-rolled uses simple equipment, has a low cost, and easy operation and maintenance, but has many working procedures and produces low yield. Using cold-draw process requires more complex equipment and more investment, but has a simple procedure and high yield. Especially for high-precision seamless steel tubes and thin-walled seamless tubes.

Due to the limited count and cost of a rolling mill, the finished product specification is less. The product produced with cold-rolled and cold-draw have many advantages: high quality, short processing cycle time, reduced intermediate degreasing, heat treatment, faint, favoring straight processes, saves energy, reduces metal consumption, has less raw material specifications and so on.

For tube pickling can use sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, mixed acid, hydrofluoric acid. Carbon structural steel and alloy seamless steel pipe better to use sulfuric acid, high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy steel precision seamless suitably hydrochloric acid, high chromium Cr and Ni Ni high-alloy seamless steel pipe preferably sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and mixed acid wash, austenitic stainless steel tube is appropriate to hydrofluoric acid.

The Difference between the Elbow and the Elbow Pipe

The elbow and the elbow pipe basic difference is the elbow shorter. R=1 or 2 times is the elbow, then big multiples is the elbow pipe. The cold bend pipe can be bend by straight pipe,
finished with one procedure, not need to do secondary corrosion in the production.  However, the production process of the elbow is much complicated compare to the elbow pipe.  It is manufacturers custom-made, corrosion, which means it has long order cycle. The cost efficient of the elbow higher than the elbow pipe and the price is much higher too. It is know to people that the elbow pipe easily damaged due to no corrosion prevention. because inexpensive so that it is widely used in the project that not have high demands. 

Construction technology of the cold bend pipe has a oil standard, West-East natural gas transmission project have its enterprise standard. Both are good at plain area, considering the cost, the elbow pipe is better. But the elbow is must at narrow sector , like stonework trench segment . The curvature semidiameter of the elbow are small , usually 6D, and the the elbow pipe is 40D.

Five Different Heat Treatment Technique

Heat treatment is the process of heating and cooling metals to achieve desired physical and mechanical properties through modification of their crystalline structure. The temperature, length of time, and rate of cooling after heat treatment will all impact properties dramatically. The most common reasons to heat treat include increasing strenght or hardness, increasing toughness, improving ductility and maximizing corrosion resistance.

1. Annealing
Annealing is a rather generalized term. Annealing consists of heating a metal to a specific temperature and then cooling at a rate that will produce a refined microstructure. The rate of colling is generally slow. Annealing is most often used to soften a metal for cold working, to improve machinability, or to enhance properties like electrical conductivity.
2. Normalizing
Normalizing is a technique used to provide uniformity in grain size and composition throughout an alloy. The term is often used for ferrous alloys that have been austenitized and then cooled in open air. Normalizing not only produces pearlite, but also bainited sometimes martensite, which gives harder and stronger steel , but with less ductility for the same composition than full annealing. 
3. Stress relieving
Stress relieving is a technique to remove or reduce the internal stresses created in a metal. These stresses may be caused in a number of ways, ranging from cold working to non-uniform cooling. Stress relieving is usually accomplished by heating a metal below the lower critical temperature and then cooling uniformly. 
4.Quenching
Quenching is a process of cooling a metal at a rapid rate. This is most often done to produce a martensite transformation. In ferrous alloys, this will often produce a harder metal, while non-ferrous alloys will usually become softer than normal. 
5. Tempering
Untempered martensitic steel, while very hard, is too brittle to be useful for most applications. A method for alleviation this problem is called tempering. Most applications require that quenched part be tempered. Tempering consists of heating steel below the lower critical temperature,  (often from 400 to 1105° F or 205 to 595°C, depending on the desired results), to impart some toughness. Higher tempering temperatures are sometimes used to impart further ductility, although some yield strength is lost.

US DOC Sets Dumping Duties on Some Steel Pipe Imports

US Department of Commerce announced on Friday its final ruling on anti-dumping duties on imports of steel pipes and tubes from South Korea, Mexico and Turkey, setting levies. The decision covers imports of heavy-walled rectangular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes which are used in construction and transportation.

The Characteristics of Stamping Elbow

Stamping elbow is used in water supply pipe, water vapor pipeline, gas pipeline, oil pipeline connection.
